Every Spring, Doodad Farm hosts a tribute/fundraiser event to help a local non-profit that serves our community. This year our tribute celebrates the songs of the late 1960s and early 1970s that arose from the Laurel Canyon area north of Los Angeles. There was definitely something magic going on up in those hills, where artists like Jackson Browne, The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, the Beach Boys, CSN, Buffalo Springfield, and so many others built an artistic community that became a fountainhead of classic, original music. We have a long list of renowned regional musicians volunteering to perform their versions of these enduring songs.
Every dollar taken in will be donated to The Arc of High Point, a local group that is committed to securing for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work, and play. Their work is vital to our area, and this tribute is our way of thanking them for their commitment. $20 donation suggested.
